Emily Banez completed her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in the Philippines and worked as an Instructor and Head Clinical Supervisor/Chief Physical Therapist at University of Baguio prior to coming to Canada. Since she obtained her Canadian PT license in 2008, she has worked in different settings and attended several continuing education to enhance her knowledge and skill and found particular interest in vestibular therapy and concussion management. Since 2011, she has been helping patients who struggles with vestibular and post-concussion symptoms. She is certified by American Institute of Balance in Vestibular Rehab and Level 2 Shift Concussion provider. Educating patients and understanding their needs are routine in her sessions to encourage her patients to actively participate in their recovery.

Education and Experience: I obtained my bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from India in 2009 and had 5 years of experience in physiotherapy practice in India. I came to Canada in 2016; studied and passed the licence exam and had a memorable experience in the physiotherapy department at Langley memorial hospital. I also have a wonderful experience teaching and conducting Yoga and wellness classes in India.
Subject of interest: My favourite conditions to treat include chronic neck and back pain, shoulder and knee injuries/ pain syndromes, sports injuries, muscle/ ligament sprain, women’s health conditions, post surgical rehab and arthritic conditions.
My Strength: My strength is setting realistic goals with my patients and helping them to achieve them. My focus is mainly on the needs of my clients, and I believe that the client knows their body best and by taking time to listen and communicate with them I can provide them exactly what they need.
I strongly believe in the power of exercise and my treatment approach is mainly based on education and exercise combined with manual therapy and modalities.
My hobbies: I grew up mainly focused on studying along with cherishing the beauty of nature by hiking, tracking, swimming in rivers and ocean.
